Expand Your Images Beyond Their Borders
Extend your canvas in any direction. AI fills the new space.
How it works
Upload your image, then drag the canvas handles outward in any direction — top, bottom, left, right, or any combination.
Optionally add a text prompt to guide what the AI generates in the expanded area. Without a prompt, it continues the existing scene naturally.
The AI extends the image seamlessly, matching perspective, lighting, and content. Download the wider image or continue editing.
Features
Expand in any direction
Drag handles to extend the canvas top, bottom, left, right, or all sides at once. The expansion is not limited to a single axis.
Aspect ratio conversion
Turn a portrait photo into a landscape banner, convert a square to 16:9, or add vertical space for stories and reels — without cropping the original content.
Perspective-aware generation
The AI model understands vanishing points and horizon lines. Extended areas maintain correct perspective so floors, walls, and skies look natural.
Prompt-guided expansion
Add a text prompt to control what appears in the new space. Describe 'more forest' or 'a clear blue sky' to guide the generation beyond what context alone provides.
Seamless blending
The boundary between original and generated content is invisible. Color, texture, and lighting match so the result looks like a single photograph.
Preserve original content
The original image pixels are never modified. Expansion only adds new content around the edges, so your subject and composition stay exactly as they were.
3-6 credits depending on expansion

Frequently asked questions
How much can I expand an image?+
You can expand up to 50% beyond the original dimensions on each side. For a 1000x1000 image, that means up to 500px of new content per edge, resulting in a maximum of 2000x2000.
Why does the credit cost vary?+
The cost scales with how much new content the AI needs to generate. A small expansion on one side costs 3 credits, while a large expansion on multiple sides costs up to 6 credits. The exact cost is displayed before you confirm.
What happens if I expand without a prompt?+
The AI analyzes the edges of your image and continues the scene based on context. Skies extend naturally, surfaces continue their textures, and backgrounds fill in plausibly. A prompt gives you more control but is not required.
Can I expand an image that already had its background removed?+
Yes, but results work best when there is a solid background or scene for the AI to continue. Expanding a transparent PNG will generate content based on whatever remains visible in the image.
Is generative expand the same as upscaling?+
No. Upscaling increases the resolution of existing content — making the same image larger with more detail. Generative expand adds entirely new content around the borders, extending the scene. They serve different purposes but can be combined.
