Retouch Photos with Precision Brushing
Erase or restore areas with a customizable brush. Full control.
How it works
Upload your image and select the brush tool. Choose between erase mode (remove areas) or restore mode (bring back previously erased areas).
Adjust the brush size and hardness to match the detail level you need. Paint over the areas you want to modify — zoom in for pixel-level precision.
Review the result in real time as you paint. Download the finished image or switch to another tool for additional edits.
Features
Erase and restore modes
Switch between erasing areas to transparency and restoring previously erased regions. This back-and-forth lets you refine masks without starting over.
Adjustable brush size
Scale the brush from a few pixels for fine detail work up to broad strokes for large areas. Change the size on the fly with keyboard shortcuts or the slider.
Soft and hard edges
Control brush hardness for feathered edges that blend smoothly or crisp edges for sharp cutouts. Soft edges work well for hair and gradients; hard edges for geometric shapes.
Zoom and pan
Zoom into your image for pixel-level accuracy while brushing. Pan around the canvas without switching tools so you can work on fine details across the entire image.
Post-removal cleanup
After AI background removal, use the brush to fix any spots the model missed — stray pixels, incomplete edges, or areas that need manual attention.
Completely free
The brush tool costs zero credits on all plans. Use it as much as you need for mask cleanup, retouching, and manual editing.

Frequently asked questions
Does the brush tool cost any credits?+
No. The brush tool is completely free on all plans, including free accounts. You can brush on any number of images without using credits.
What is the difference between erase and restore?+
Erase mode removes pixels (making them transparent), while restore mode brings back pixels that were previously erased. This is useful for fixing mistakes — if you erase too much, switch to restore and paint the area back.
Can I use the brush after AI background removal?+
Yes, and that is one of its most common uses. After the AI removes the background, switch to the brush to clean up any remaining artifacts, fix edges around hair or small details, and ensure a perfect cutout.
How do I change the brush size?+
Use the size slider in the toolbar or keyboard shortcuts (bracket keys) to increase and decrease the brush diameter. You can adjust the size at any time while painting.
Can I undo brush strokes?+
Yes. Each brush stroke is tracked in the undo history. Press Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac) to step back through individual strokes, or use restore mode to paint back areas you erased.
